Dr. Disc will be “Raising the Roof” again this year by hosting free, outdoor live musical performances outside the store at 20 Wilson Street (at James) to coincide with the downtown Art Crawl.

The purpose of these concerts is to:

• increase awareness of and highlight the diversity and vitality of the independent Hamilton music scene.
• encourage the public to come to downtown Hamilton to experience all that it has to offer.
• to give back to the community for the support it has shown for Dr. Disc since the doors opened back in 1991.

!! ~ RECORD STORE DAY 2015: Saturday, April 18 ~ !!

March 22nd, 2015

Whoa, so Record Store Day is quickly approaching us again!! Mark your calendars, it’s on SATURDAY APRIL 18th.

Be sure to get your requests in for what special release you’ll be looking for by e-mailing us at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). That way we can at least make sure that it’s on order!

Here is the offical list: Record Store Day USA keep in mind that NOT ALL OF THESE RELEASES ARE AVAILABLE IN CANADA. You can find a Canadian list at: Record Store Day Canada Facebook.

Here are some rules in regards to ALL RSD product:

1. How it works is that we pre-order the vast majority of RSD titles based on what we think we can sell and also what customers like you ask us about.

2. We don’t know if we are getting a certain title until it ships or we receive it. So there is no way to know in advance if we will be receiving stock on a particular item unfortunately.

3. There are NO HOLDS OR RESERVES on any RSD titles as the whole idea of Record Store Day is to come down to your local record store on 04/18 to try and get what you’re looking for. It’s strictly first-come, first-served.

4. We can, however, TRY and notify you if we get invoiced ahead of time and know whether or not we will be receiving what you are looking for, but sometimes due to the hectic nature of the lead up to RSD, we either do not receive the invoices ahead of the order, or we are just to busy to email customers individually. We can definitely try to let you know, so if you want us to, just email us.

5. We have the same, across-the-board mark-up on RSD product based on our invoice costs, and do NOT price gouge or mark things up like you see some sellers do on eBay.

6. We will be opening EARLY on Saturday, April 18, at 9:00am instead of 10:00am (which is our usual opening time daily except for Sunday when we open at noon).

7. How we work RSD is that we give numbers to everyone in line, so customers can shop until their number is called. These RSD items are kept behind the counter, limit one copy of each title per person. Last year we had more than 50 people lined up before we opened the doors, and the first customer was in line around 7:00am, so plan accordingly!

8. We will also have a store-wide sale that weekend on everything except RSD product.

That’s about it! Please email should you need any more info.

Good luck hunting this year on Record Store Day! grin
